NII Explore is dedicated to delivering enhanced educational opportunities for school-aged children to learn, experiment, discover and create. Our educational programming offers a range of learning styles that connects students to the best teaching and knowledge available.

WHAT WE DO.

NII Explore supports inclusive, accessible programming and initiatives across multiple platforms and various streams of knowledge. This includes science, technology, engineering and math as well as nuclear-related learning. It also incorporates elements of design and entrepreneurship, conservation and storytelling.

NII Explore is targeted primarily at students living in or near the Grey, Bruce, Huron region
and local Indigenous communities.

Online Classes

Innovative approaches to virtual learning that align with Ontario’s curriculum, broadcasting live from the NII Explore Garage into your classroom or home.

Workshops &
Exhibits

Created around a ‘big topic’ or specific need in the community, our special events are hands-on, engaging fun whether delivered in person or virtually.

Experiential
Learning

Inclusive and accessible hands-on learning experiences that stir imaginations and unleash creativity—from young explorers to high school-aged students.

Collective
Projects

Help close the gap in STEM opportunities between rural and urban regions, helping local students cultivate the skills and knowledge needed for success in the future.

STEM LESSONS

Whether learning in the classroom, virtually from home – or simply looking for a fun
way to keep kids busy – NII Explore’s STEM lesson plans are easy-to-follow and
engaging for students in elementary school.

From mixing up bubbly lava lamps to making bird feeders for our flying friends to exploring force and energy with DIY catapults, Grade 2 is busy!
